Paul Craig and Hinesh Patel meet with Rob Sorrentino of Eckhardt Trading Company (ETC) and Alex Rau of Environmental Commodity Partners to discuss the explosive recent growth of natural gas prices.

As our expert guests explain, the confluence of record low levels of underground storage, poor maintenance and a sudden reliance on Russian gas coupled with the declining use of coal and nuclear options has created “a slow-motion train wreck in energy markets” that could take three years to clear.

The immediate outlook, they say, depends entirely on the weather; a mild winter in Europe could ease the current spiral in prices but an extreme winter will deliver even more extreme energy prices.

Past performance is not a guide to future performance and may not be repeated. The value of investments and the income from them may go down as well as up and investors may not get back the amount originally invested. Because of this, an investor is not certain to make a profit on an investment and may lose money. Exchange rates may cause the value of overseas investments to rise or fall.
