Quilter Investors new Income range achieves Defaqto 5 Diamond rating

Quilter Investors is pleased to announce that the newly launched Monthly Income and Monthly Income and Growth portfolios have received a Defaqto 5 Diamond rating.

Defaqto’s independent rating assesses portfolios relative to their peer groups across a number of features including the strength of the business, charges, the portfolio management team and investment process.

The 5 Diamond rating is the highest available and illustrates that the newly launched risk-targeted multi-asset income portfolios represent an excellent proposition for advisers and their clients.

Actively managed by portfolio manager Helen Bradshaw, the new portfolios launched at the end of June. ‘Founder’ investors benefit from the opportunity to invest in a lower priced 0.6% Fixed Ongoing Charge (FOC) share class when they invest in the first six months from launch, via the Old Mutual Wealth platform or Old Mutual International.

Designed in consultation with financial advisers, the two globally diversified portfolios distribute income payments monthly. A smoothing mechanism is applied to provide clients with increased certainty over the expected level of regular income.

Both portfolios aim to achieve a first quartile yield and will be managed according to a risk targeted approach, offering reassurance over the expected level of volatility clients can anticipate.

The Monthly Income Portfolio is a lower risk portfolio targeting a higher level of income alongside the potential for capital growth. The Monthly Income and Growth Portfolio aims to maximise total return through a higher level of risk with a lower level of expected income.

Helen joined the business in January this year from Janus Henderson, where she held an established track record in multi-asset income. She is supported by a Quilter Investors portfolio management team encompassing quantitative analysis experts, fund researchers, dealers, specialists in fixed income, alternatives, relative value strategies and a range of other disciplines.

Defaqto is an independent fund and product information business and their team of 60 experts analyses more than 41,000 financial products in the UK.

Quilter Investors chief commercial officer, Dean Bowden, says:

“I’m delighted the new Quilter Investors Monthly Income and Monthly Income and Growth portfolios have already achieved this recognition so quickly after launch. This independent analysis illustrates the quality of the income proposition we now offer.

“The portfolios are already attracting interest from advisers and customers that are drawn to the unique design and strategy behind the proposition.

“Helen is an experienced portfolio manager in the multi-asset income sector, supported by a skilled team of analysts, researchers and other specialists. The globally diversified, risk-targeted investment strategy combined with the added security of a smoothed income experience makes the new portfolios an exciting choice for customers seeking an income investment solution.”
