Tim has had a distinguished career in financial services, with past appointments including Group Chief Executive of Legal & General, being a Member of the Takeover Panel, and holding Non-executive Director roles with the Association of British Insurers and the Financial Reporting Council. Tim is an experienced Non-executive Director and committee member, having sat on the Board and committees of Barclays plc for a number of years.
As a former CEO of a FTSE-100 company operating in the UK long-term savings market, Tim will provide challenge, advice and support to Quilter management on business performance and decision-making.
Tim is currently a Non-executive Director of Barclays plc and Barclays Bank plc, chairing the Board Risk Committee and is a member of the Board Audit Committee, Board Nomination Committee and Board Remuneration Committee. He is also Chairman of Apax Global Alpha Limited.
Dean BowdenManaging Director
Dean is managing director Quilter Investors having been appointed to the newly-created role in November 2019. He joined Skandia Investment Group in 2007 and held several senior management positions as the business transformed to become Old Mutual Global Investors (OMGI). In 2015 he was appointed OMGI’s proposition and commercial director, before becoming chief commercial officer at Quilter Investors upon its formation in 2018. Dean is a fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) and before joining the business spent nearly 10 years with Thesis Asset Management, where he was head of the Fund of Funds Managed service and fund selection team.
Sarah FromsonNon-executive Director
Sarah brings a thirty-year career in the investment management industry, including senior Chief Investment Risk Officer roles at RBS Asset Management (and formerly at Coutts) and, most recently, at The Wellcome Trust, where her role spanned investment and operational risks. She stepped down from her executive career in September 2019 and is currently a Non-executive Director and Chair of the Audit Committee of asset management firm Arrowstreet Capital; Chair of JP Morgan’s £350 million-plus Global Emerging Markets Income Trust; Chair at venture capital trust Baronsmead Second Venture Trust; and a Trustee Director of the Wellcome Trust Pension Plan and that of its subsidiary Genome Research Ltd. Sarah is also Chair of the Investment Committee of Capital Generation Partners, a high net worth family wealth management office.
Paul SimpsonChief Executive Officer
Paul is CEO of Quilter Investors and maintains oversight of the portfolio management team. After working in investment banking as an investment risk professional and then proprietary trader, he switched to asset management working in leading hedge funds before joining the Group via Old Mutual Asset Managers (OMAM) in 2006. As OMAM grew into Old Mutual Global Investors (OMGI) he became Head of Alternatives and then Director of Investments. When Old Mutual PLC rebranded to Quilter and sold the OMGI business Paul moved across to take the CEO role in Quilter Investors, the asset management business of Quilter Group. Paul also sits on the Quilter Investors Board, the Quilter PLC executive Committee and the Board of the Quilter Investors ICAV in Ireland.
Paul has a BA in Economics from Cambridge University and an MBA from the University of Bradford Management Centre.
Bambos HambiChief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer, Quilter Investors (subject to regulatory approval)
Bambos is CEO and CIO of Quilter Investors (subject to regulatory approval). He joined Quilter Investors in November 2020 from Aberdeen Standard Investments, where he was head of multi-manager strategies.
His experience of more than 40 years in the industry, began in the actuarial department of Legal & General before moving into their investment division. After joining Morgan Stanley Quilter in 1987 to manage pension and discretionary equity portfolios, Bambos graduated to head of multi-manager roles, including stints at Friends Ivory Sime and Rothschild, before joining Gartmore in 2003 as head of the multi-manager business.
In 2011, Bambos joined Standard Life Investments (SLI), later Aberdeen Standard Investments, where he was the manager of the successful MyFolio solutions.
Bambos holds a degree in Mathematics from the University of London.
Richard SkeltIndependent Non-executive Director
Richard Skelt was appointed to the Quilter Investors Board in March 2020.
He has considerable investment management experience with a deep understanding of multi-asset investing, having built Fidelity’s Investment Solutions Group to a business with more than $45bn of assets under management.
Richard spent 23 years at Fidelity International where he held a number of senior leadership roles within the Investment Solutions Group. He spent 18 years as a portfolio manager, where he managed multi-asset funds of around $10bn and proposed and managed new multi-asset solutions. In his role as Co-Head of the Investment Solutions Group at Fidelity, Richard formalised the strategic asset allocation process, created a third-party research team and launched a number of new investment products. He went on to take charge of all functions within the Investment Solutions Group as Chief Investment Officer, following which he transitioned to the Head of Investment role where he was responsible for oversight of all investment and provided investment leadership for the team. Richard has a BA in Biochemistry from Oxford University and an MBA from London Business School.
